Privacy Policy

What Observatory does not collect

• No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting.
• No accounts. There is no Observatory user database.
• No tracking identifiers, no cookies, no third-party SDKs.

What stays on your Mac

The Grafana base URL, API token, dashboard selections, favorite panels and the Pro entitlement flag are stored inside the app's sandboxed App Group container (~/Library/Group Containers/group.us.priet.observatory). Nothing in that file ever leaves your machine.

Network traffic

Observatory talks directly to the Grafana host you configure, over HTTPS, using the API token you paste in. The app does not contact any other server. It does not proxy your queries through a third party. Your metrics never reach us.

In-app purchase

The Pro upgrade is a one-time non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple through StoreKit. We do not see your Apple ID, payment method, name, or address. Apple handles the transaction and provides Observatory with a signed receipt that the app uses locally to unlock the Medium and Large widget families. Refunds are handled by Apple.

Support emails

If you email observatory@priet.us, we keep the message until your question is answered and then archive it. We do not add you to any mailing list.

This website

observatory.priet.us is a static site. It does not set cookies, does not run analytics, and does not embed third-party trackers. The server keeps standard access logs (IP, user agent, requested path) for a few days for operational reasons.

Children

Observatory is a tool for system administrators and developers and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes in a way that affects what leaves your Mac, we will update the date at the top and call it out in the app's release notes.
